The Wall Anchor. I'm not writing about the type shown in the photo. I mean wall anchors you need when fastening things to the wall in your home. These include types such as molly, toggle, shield, self tapping.

I understand all you want to do is install a a shelf, right?  Not many things are as confusing as what type of wall anchor to use when you want to fasten something to the wall. It seems there are more variations than necessary and then which ones work best or are easiest to use?

I've outlined all you need to know in a visual guide to using wall anchors including which wall fastener to use depending on the type of wall and weight of the object being attached. And I've outlined installation tips and instructions.

What is a four letter word for fire risk?
Try "LINT."

Yes, the lint in your dryer can be a major risk because your dryer vent hose may be improperly installed or never cleaned. And if you have an electric dryer, your fire risk is even greater. Well, I found those stats from a 1999 report developed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) shocking also! But the good news is that the fires were not due to anything inherently dangerous about the dryer as an appliance, but more so the lack of proper maintenance by the user. As it turns out the fire originated most frequently from two places: the dryer venting and the lint trap.

It bothers me when I find out after the fact that I was supposed to do maintenance on something that I did not know I was supposed to do. Don't think you are alone in being surprised in what I'm going to tell you. There is probably an unbelievable amount of dangerous lint lining the walls of your dryer ducting and inside your dryer right now that you need to clean out. It does not matter that you regularly clean out the lint filter in your dryer, "lint happens." Loads of clothes taking longer and longer to dry is a classic sign of lint build-up.
